**CNC Apprentice**

### **Responsibilities**
* Participate and pass day release to a community college for the in\-class portion of the program, with the balance of the program involving on\-the\-job training.
* Learning the skills required to become a professional CNC/Manual Machine operator – both Lathes and Milling Machines.
* Learn and understand principals of Engineering and Engineering drawings requirements.
* Required to follow all Health and Safety regulations relevant to the work environment.
* Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
* Learn and maintain high standards of workmanship during the training period.
* Apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, mathematics, machineability of materials and technique.
* Set up and perform tool changes, inspect parts, and quality control.
* Compute dimensions and tolerances to measure and lay out work pieces.
* Calculate and set controls to regulate speeds and feeds.
* Verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
* Maintain a log sheet of duties and time allocated to tasks.
* Maintain acceptable performance levels throughout the training period
### **Qualifications**
* At least 5 GCSEs with grades A\-C with, ideally, english and Maths being two of those subjects.
* Completed 1st year within college.
